Sgt at Arms program - Mitch and Brian seem happy to take our money! Fire Chief, Dennis Mueller's program highlighted a innovative, collaborative partnership of Havasu Regional Medical Center and our local fire department.
Local paramedics make rounds at the hospital to visit chronically ill patients which are at high risk of repeat hospital visits, then visit those patients in their homes a couple of days following their discharge to make sure they are on track to follow their medical plan and assist in redirecting if they have not made follow-up appointments, picked up prescriptions, etc. The program has resulted in reduced re-admissions to the hospital and fewer emergency calls for the fire department. The Lake Havasu Program is being highlighted at professional conferences of public servants and hospital administrators encouraging other communities to follow the Lake Havasu City model.
