The Essence of Rotary is to “Change lives”. Don Klostermeier greeted the club with great enthusiasm to introduce our new recruiting program entitled “Ignite”.

“I am a Rotarian”

The die has been cast, I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made, I have put “Service above Self”.

I am a Rotarian, I will not look back, letup, slow down, back a way, or be still.

I am a Rotarian my presence makes sense and my future is secure, I will touch far and near.

I am a Rotarian, I am finished with sight walking, small planning, colorless dreams, pained vision, cheap talking, cheap giving, and dwarfed goals.

I am a Rotarian, I no longer need pre-eminence, position, promotion, plaudits or popularity.

I am a Rotarian, and do not have to be first, top, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded.  I now live by the Truth, I will make all things fair.  I will benefit others and show that I care.

I am a Rotarian, my gait is fast, my goal is service, my road is narrow, and my way is rough.

I am a Rotarian, and my companions are few, my guide is reliable, and my mission is clear.

I am a Rotarian, and cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, deluded or delayed.

I am a Rotarian, and will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the adversary, ponder at the pool of popularity or meander in the maze of mediocrity.

I am a Rotarian, and will not give up, shut up, or let up, until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up and given of myself.

I am a Rotarian and must serve till I go...When I take my last breath, My creator will know, My title will be clear; I AM A ROTARIAN, and have touched lives far and near.
