Even though the planned program for the day did not materialze, the meeting was full of interesting highlights.

Suzanne Ballard profiled herself in this month's "Know Your Fellow Rotarian" biography.

A visiting Rotarian shared highlights from his 45-year history as a Rotarian in three clubs.  He was the first to sponsor a woman into his club when that became an option.
Gail Malay is looking forward to being active after her upcoming retirement as School District Superintendant, but in something less stressful.  Don Klostermeier shared some personal health history about learning some cardiac risk factors needed attention and he is learning to control them with medication and lifestyle changes.

Gary Hettick shared a touching ethics story about a young man who worked for him in the 80's.  The young man was abandoned by his parents.  Gary took him under his wing and mentored him.  Gary recently received a call from the man who now lives in Phoenix with his wife and two children.  He was recently promoted to a manager position with Home Depot and wanted to thank Gary for the work ethic and values Gary had influenced.  He attributed his current quality of life to the lessons he learned while working at London Bridge Linens.

The tradition of "Mel's table" holding the winning power ball ticket seems to continue, with Roger Johnson trying to pull the winning ball from the bag but being declared a "Loser."
