River Scene Magazine covered activities at Havasu Stick'em on Saturday, August 6.  This was the 10th year for local Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs to partner to make this immunization day happen for youngsters in the Lake Havasu community.

Havasu Community Health Foundation has been the central organizing body for the past few years, and have included Mohave County Health Department, school nurses, and other interested volunteers in the planning committee in addition to representatives from each of the participating clubs.

It is estimated that 75+ youngsters received immunizations, 59 sports physical vouchers were given out, and well over 100 safety helmets were given out.  In addition, oral health and vision screenings were available.  There were a number of vendor tables with activities for the youth who attended, and information for their parents about available resources in our area.

There were several on-stage demonstrations of activities available for local youth.  There were lots of smiling faces and not too many tears.
